In today’s business world, it’s crucial to know how to deal with the complex problems associated with big data sets, to share ideas and collaborate with colleagues. At the Institute for Insight, our interdisciplinary approach gives students these skills and provides them with a solid footing for careers in data analytics.

Bring us your problems.

We welcome participation from professionals from the business community. To bring us your big data difficulties, contact Harold Ball at haroldball@gsu.edu to explore how your company can partner with the institute and find solutions.

Master of Science in Analytics

As members of a small group, institute students complete four semesters of intense training to earn a master’s in analytics. We count on Atlanta companies to provide mentors for many of our students. We want them to work with people dealing with, and solving, actual data problems.

Friday Labs

In addition, guest presenters from our industry partners visit the lab every Friday to share ideas about analytics, discuss big data issues and help our students develop new skills. We want our students to have collaborative abilities as well as analytic competencies. They learn from each other, from faculty and from business professionals alike.

Data Sprints

As a team, students work together on “data sprints,” two-to-four-week-long projects brought to the institute by companies seeking solutions to actual problems involving data management and applications. Students welcome these data challenges and the chance to work with those in the field.
